I count 6, I think that's one showing in silouette on his left, unless that's the bottom of a very strange earlobe...
Also, I'm thinking wig and would look like a proper east-end hardman that no-one would dare mess with if he just cut it all short.

I don't think it's a wig, I think it's just a bad dye job.
